NPC Spotlight - Admiral Zelef
NPC Spotlight is a series of single page characters designed to be dropped into any fantasy game. Each one includes the characters description, personality, and goals; all the details you need to use them in your games. All the characters are written to be system agnostic and don’t include any specific stats or rules that tie them to a specific system giving you the freedom to use them in any way you wish.

Admiral Zelef
Description
Zelef is an imposing female human who is seemingly always clad in a suit of finely polished armor. Not a single strand of her brown hair is out of place and everything about her seems put together and polished; certainly a side effect of her military career.
She has been part of her nation’s navy for nearly a decade and has been an exemplary soldier during that time. Rising through the ranks quickly, she displayed courage, intelligence, and the ability to follow orders to the letter, attributes which are all highly respected by her superiors. She’s extremely practical and cares little for nonsense or things that won’t further her goals, and her plain civilian dress reflects that.
Personality
Outwardly, Zelef is gruff and to the point, something that’s served her well in her military service. She possesses an astute and intelligent mind which she’s used to make several aspiring military men look foolish, and earned her a few enemies as well.
Fiercely loyal, she is fully committed to her military work and has little time for anything else. She is quite skilled in combat and has personally been involved in several battles and other forms of smaller-scale military operations. She’s a walking definition of what it means to be an officer in the military. This has been a detriment in other areas of her life though. She’s made very few true connections with others and sometimes feels pangs of jealousy when faced with her lack of relationships when compared to others. Work is a good distraction though, these emotions are quickly forgotten once she throws herself into the next of an unending list of projects.
Hunched over a desk filled with papers sits an armor-clad figure. As you enter, she looks up and stands to greet you. “Greetings, I’m Admiral Zelef, commander of this regiment. What can I do for you?” she asks in a commanding voice oozing with authority. She stands tall and proud, a gleaming set of armor adorns her with only her head exposed allowing her shoulder-length brown hair to rest gently on her shoulders. The crest of her nation sits front and center on her breastplate.
Goals
Zelef is always looking for ways to stand out among her peers and prove her worth. Her drive has served her well thus far, and she continues to strive for more lofty positions and bits of personal glory. Hard work is something she’s extremely accustomed to and she shows no signs of easing up.
She also has a family, her parents live in some moderately sized town within the nation’s borders, to whom she sends money regularly. While she doesn’t see them much due to her work she cares deeply for them and wants to see them prosper in her absence. She hopes to use the wealth and influence she gains from her military career to continue to provide for them.
